CNC Lathe Operator / Machinist

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture parts according to blueprints and specifications
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Install and adjust cutting tools
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Make adjustments to work offsets as needed to maintain tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and resolve issues

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
  • 2+ years of experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools accurately
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
