CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist for a reputable local client in Kalispell. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist experienced in setups, precision machining, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups using:
  • Hard jaws
  • Soft jaws
  • Angle plates
  • Other appropriate holding and clamping techniques
• Demonstrate efficient machining practices to achieve:
  • Optimal surface finish
  • Reduced cycle times
  • Minimal setup time
• Select proper speeds, feeds, and tooling for each job
• Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings, including tolerance requirements
• Accurately measure and inspect parts using:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Height gauges
  • Go/No-Go gauges
• Maintain production timelines while ensuring top-quality standards
• Apply correct machining practices to maximize efficiency and part quality
• Complete setups within expected timeframes:
  • Simple setups: 15-40 minutes (dependent on prior job setup)
• Understand tolerance requirements and adjust processes accordingly

Requirements

• Experience operating CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill (both preferred)
• Ability to operate manual mill and lathe is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of:
  • Blueprint reading
  • Tolerances and precision machining
• Proficient with measuring tools and inspection processes
• Solid basic math skills, including:
  • Fractions and decimals
  • Ability to convert between both
• Ability to work independently and stay organized while meeting deadlines
