CNC Hard Turn Operator

About the Role

This position involves setting up, operating, and tending to hard turn grinding and related tools for the Mazak CNC Hard Turn operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and tend to Mazak CNC machines.
• Load, unload, make simple offsets, and change wheel packs.
• Troubleshoot programs, create, and dress wheel packs.
• Set up machine per the setup sheet or customer print.
• Verify machine setup by inspecting and verifying product characteristics are within tolerance per the part print specifications on the 1st piece and throughout the process run using appropriate measuring devices.
• Clean parts and move them to the next operation.
• Perform weekly or monthly machine maintenance.
• Maintain tools and equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
• Assist and train others as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use hand tools.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Visual acuity for detailed work.
• Must be able to lift and maneuver 40 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Other Requirements

• Must submit to and pass background and substance abuse tests.
• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must follow designated safety rules and regulations.
• Responsible for performing duties in an environment free from discrimination, intimidation, coercion, or harassment.
• Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dirt, dust, and solvents.
• Must be able to work extended hours (including weekends) as necessitated by production requirements.
