Marshall Healthcare Facility is a 64-bed skilled and long-term care facility in Machias, Maine. Responsibilities
- Assists with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary, and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients.
- Provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Assists with showering/bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs.
- Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to the nursing supervisor.
- Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential.
- Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements.
- Accepts ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of relevant nursing care.
- Friendly and professional bedside manner.
- Maintains current CPR certification.
- Multi-tasking skills.
- Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills.

Pay
A premium differential of $3.00 per hour for hours worked during the defined weekend time.
Schedule
Every weekend scheduling option to CNAs newly hired in the Nursing department on a limited basis. Employees must make a commitment to enroll in the program for twenty-six (26) consecutive weekends (six months). During this period, the employee will be scheduled to work a minimum of three (3) twelve (12) hour or two(2) sixteen (16) hour shifts per weekend. For the purpose of defining this program, the “weekend” begins on Friday at 6:30am and ends on Monday evening at 7:00pm.
