About the Role

The Unit Secretary/Certified Nursing Assistant is a member of the nursing team who contributes to the comfort and wellbeing of the patients and works under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Performs specifically assigned patient care tasks, clerical duties such as answering patient call lights and phone, and entering physician orders into the computer. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant licensure in the state of Florida.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service, and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
• TB/PPD Surveillance Program.
• Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).

Physical Requirements

• Stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.
• Frequently assisting with lifting patients and heavy equipment.
• Ability to push/pull up to 40 lbs, carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, make sound decisions, and be detail-oriented, alert, and self-motivated.
