CNA / UNIT SECRETARY - MED/SURG PEDIATRICS

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans
• Affords assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Affords assistance in transportation and transfer of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement
• Maintains monitoring and recording of vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to the nursing team
• Completes accuchecks as directed
• Accurately and promptly documents patient care
• Affords support for patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers
• Supports patients with feeding and hydration needs, adhering to dietary restrictions and assisting with mealtime activities
• Removes trays in a timely manner
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes
• Completes hourly rounds to assigned patients and anticipates patient needs
• Responds promptly to call lights and patient requests
• Provides emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions
• Maintains a clean and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of patient rooms, and preparing rooms for admissions and transfers
• Adheres to infection control protocols and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in DE
• BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification

Pay

Entry USD $18.25/Hr. Max USD $28.29/Hr.

Schedule

This is a PRN position requiring 1 shift every 2 weeks, 1 weekend shift every 4 weeks, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday.
