(CNA) Sr. Nursing Aide - Float Pool - 140463

About the role

This position supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living. It involves performing uncomplicated technical procedures, participating in performance improvement activities, and utilizing a variety of technical equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

- Supports the Registered Nurse in providing patient care. - Assists with patient transport, specimen and blood transport, and inventory management. - Functions as a patient sitter and observes patients to ensure their well-being and safety. - Cross-trains for the roles of Continuous Observation Attendant (COA) and Video Monitor Tech. - Works across various units in the inpatient hospital setting, including Hillcrest, East Campus, and La Jolla Medical Centers.

Requirements

- Active California CNA license. - BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain within six months. - Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to adapt to different work environments and patient populations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- At least one year of CNA experience, preferably in an acute care setting. - Previous experience in psych, behavioral, or memory care facilities. - Previous experience in de-escalation and CPI. - Current nursing student enrolled in an RN program. - Video monitoring experience. - Experience with Epic, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems. - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Bilingual: Spanish/English.

Special Conditions

- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. - Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. - Position will float to various units at both Hillcrest, East Campus, and La Jolla Medical Centers.
