The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long‑term care, providing resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, psychosocial support, personal care).
• Assists with transferring, repositioning, walking using correct techniques and equipment; provides range of motion and passive exercises.
• Completes food preparation and dining tasks, creates positive dining experience, assists with meals/snacks, provides water and supplements.
• Aids providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed.
• Documents resident interactions, outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Communicates resident's changing condition and care concerns to the charge nurse.
• Collects non‑invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry services to keep resident living areas clean and operational.
• Assists with and documents wellness and recreational programs, encourages resident participation.
• May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
