Responsibilities

• Performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up and maintenance.
• Visibly assesses patient’s safety needs with safety as the first priority.
• Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled; may be required to float to other areas if needed and takes call as defined by hospital policy.
• Assists with unit cleaning and outdated product removal.
• Passes food trays and assists patients who need help with feeding and tray set-up.
• Transports patients using a wheelchair or gurney.
• Keeps patient rooms stocked with supplies.
• Uses AIDET, 10-5 rule, and makes consumer experience a priority.
• Assists other staff as requested and continually looks for opportunities to help co-workers in the care of patients.
• Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Aide certificate required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• BLS and Iowa Mandatory Reporter Adult and Child must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
