CNA/NAR- Certified Nursing Assistant

About the role

This role provides hands-on care and support services for adult residents at a spacious care center in Minneapolis, MN near Cedar Lake in a residential neighborhood. The Jones-Harrison community offers Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Long-Term Care with a beautiful view of Cedar Lake and pristine grounds. This community features 53 Assisted Living, 9 Memory Care apartments, and 120 skilled and long-term care beds.

Responsibilities

• Assists resident based on individual care plan with personal cares such as bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, showers and responds to call lights
• Nursing Assistant may per community patient care model check and record vitals
• AM/PM/NOC cares; including peri care and catheter care
• May turn, lift or transfer residents with or without other persons/mechanical assistance
• Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff in a clear and concise manner
• Chart or document in electronic medical record system
• Seeks to resolve resident and family concerns
• Receives and gives report to appropriate staff during various times in work shift
• Other duties such as order and cleanliness in rooms and work areas, reports malfunctioning equipment to maintenance department, and answers phones in a timely manner

Requirements

• Active as Nursing Assistant, Registered (NAR) on the MDH Nursing Assistant Registry by start date OR
• Individual who is hired into Ebenezer's Nursing Assistant Course or Ebenezer's Pre-CNA job for Nursing Assistants; will be granted a 4-month post hire to become active on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry

Preferred qualifications

• Ability to work with a diverse and geriatric population
• Communicate efficiently, with compassion and understanding for residents and coworkers
• Experience working as a HHA, PCA, DSP, NA, Resident Assistant
• Work experience in a customer service setting

Schedule

• 30.4 hours every two weeks
• Evening shift
• Includes every other weekend Saturday/Sunday and holiday
