Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to patients
• Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics for ambulation, transferring, range‑of‑motion assistance, positioning, and household chores
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding as assigned
• Perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned
• Observe, report, and document any changes in the patient’s status
• Report to the primary nurse if unable to perform a certain task
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist
• Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
• Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant per state requirements
• CNA experience within the last two years
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance
