About the role

Amedisys is hiring Certified Nurse Assistants for hospice care in two territories: East (Burlington) and West (Greensboro).

Pay

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics for tasks such as ambulation, transferring, range of motion, positioning, and household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals; assists with feeding as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status; reports inability to perform tasks to the primary nurse.
• Follows written care instructions prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
