About the role

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan Society – Mandan Sunset provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The role involves delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per the care plan. The NA is expected to follow infection prevention and control policies and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

  • Bath, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs for assigned residents.
  • Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Provide range of motion and passive exercises to residents.
  • Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
  • Document resident interactions, care outcomes, and changes in resident condition.
  • Communicate resident's care concerns and responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents in maintaining living areas.
  • Encourage residents to participate in wellness and recreational programs.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of starting the position.
  • Maintain a record of continuing education credits for each year, with a minimum of 12 hours annually.
  • Maintain all department-specific required certifications.
  • May classify as a Sanford Category II Driver and must pass a drug screen and pre-employment background screening.

Qualifications

Pay

$19.00 - $25.50 per hour, plus a $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS!!

Schedule

Full time, 8 Hours - Night Shifts, 32.00 Weekly Hours
