About the role

All Saints Hospice is seeking a Hospice CNA to join their team in Mansura, LA. The position provides 1:1 care, monitors and reports changes in the patient's condition, assists with mobility, medication assistance, emotional support, light housekeeping, and documentation. The schedule is Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and repositioning
  • Mobility: Assist with ambulation, transfers, ROM exercises, and safe equipment use
  • Medication Assistance: Help with self-administered medications per state regulations
  • Emotional Support: Offer companionship and comfort to patients and families
  • Light Housekeeping: Change linens, assist with meals, and maintain a clean space
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Team Participation: Collaborate with hospice interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six months experience including providing personal care
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Complete a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training, 16 of which must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training
  • Possess and maintain current CPR certification
  • Understand hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill
  • Able to work with little direct supervision
  • Able to handle death/dying
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
