About the role
Good Samaritan – Bethany is a 79-bed long-term skilled care and transitional care facility in Brainerd, Minnesota. As a Nursing Assistant (NA), you will serve as caregiver to residents during your scheduled work period, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Schedule
- Part-time: 48 hours per bi-weekly pay period (24 hours/week)
- Day shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Every other weekend and rotating holidays
- Additional weekend incentive of $1.25/hour
- $3,500 sign-on bonus (if eligibility requirements are met)
Pay
Salary range: $20.00 – $25.50 per hour
Responsibilities
- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining/recording vital signs.
- Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment; provide range of motion and passive exercises.
- Support food preparation and dining to create a positive experience; assist residents with meals, snacks, water, and supplements.
- Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed.
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs; communicate changes in condition to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas.
- Assist with wellness and recreational programs; encourage resident participation.
- May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or ability to become certified within four months of hire (training and certification provided by facility).
- Satisfactorily complete yearly competency testing and maintain a record of continuing education (minimum 12 hours annually).
- Maintain all required certifications, including UAP Registry where applicable.
- For roles requiring driving, must meet Sanford Category II Driver requirements (motor vehicle report, valid driver’s license, and medical qualification per Sanford Driving Policy).
