Job Purpose
To provide Direct Resident Care under supervision of the Charge Nurse. The Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA follows established policies and procedures while providing and coordinating resident care with other facility personnel.

Requirements
- CNA licensed by State of CA
- CPAP & First-Aid Certification
- Clear criminal background with DOJ and FBI
- Ability to work in a healthcare setting with the senior population
Job Tasks
- Receives report and assignments.
- Grooming and bathing patients with low mobility.
- Preparing each patient room with necessary items like blankets, pillows, medical equipment and bathroom needs.
- Helping patients eat and take medications.
- Making sure they have regular meals and proper medication dosages.
- Making sure all residents are offered nourishment at indicated times.
- Charting on all residents, making sure to include a narrative note about the activity and progress of the resident that day.
- Keeps bedside and over-bed tables clean and uncluttered.
- Keeps side rails clean.
- Walks ambulatory residents to dining room and takes them to bathroom every two hours and as requested.
- Aids in the transfer of patients from wheelchair to bed.
- Makes sure patients are turned or adjusted in bed to prevent bedsores or other discomfort.
- Reports immediately to Charge Nurse anything unusual about residents.
- Assists patients with mobility needs.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds;
- Moving, lifting, assisting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds using proper mechanics and/or assistive lifting devices.
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry patients.
- Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigue.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.
- Fine motor skills.
- Visual acuity.
