About the Role

Apple Rehab Avon, a family-owned and operated skilled nursing and short-term rehab facility, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our caring team. Located in Avon, CT, our 60-bed establishment offers a supportive, family-oriented environment with a cohesive team that embodies a familial bond. This role involves assisting residents with daily living activities, providing nursing functions, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use, and positioning in and out of bed.
• Document personal care given according to facility policies.
• Provide nursing functions as directed, including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, and measuring/recording temperature, weight, pulse, and respiration.
• Observe and report to supervisor changes in residents' condition, including any skin breakdowns.
• Report immediately all accidents or injuries.
• Record all necessary charting entries.
• Answer all call lights regardless of assignment.
• Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
• No history of patient/resident abuse as per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards residents and their support networks.

Pay & Schedule

• Starting pay: $20 per hour, based on experience.
• Shift differentials available for 2nd and 3rd shifts and weekends.
• Additional $5.00/hour for any shifts worked outside scheduled hours.
• Available shifts: 16-hour 7am-3pm, 16-hour 3pm-11pm, 24-hour 11pm-7am, and Per Diem.
• Per diem staff are expected to fulfill 2 weekend shifts monthly.
