About the role

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, is located in a new building at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility provides adult behavioral health services, expanding the current 50‑and‑older program at NNMC to serve all adults 18 years and older. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients receive an individualized care plan that incorporates individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24‑hour secure, compassionate environment. Responsibilities

• Completes bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Ensures the patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
• Meets with the supervising RN at the start of each shift to receive delegation of tasks.
• Involves the patient and family in addressing psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population‑specific, and diversity‑related needs in care.
• Provides safe, competent nursing assistant care to patients.
• Offers professional support to the healthcare team.
• Bases all nursing care on the principles of Patient‑Centered Care.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited C.N.A. program.
• Current Nevada C.N.A. license.
• Current BLS certificate.
