About the role
Provides personal care to residents according to written service plans.
Responsibilities
- Review the logbook and assignment sheets for updates at the start of each shift.
- Assure that residents are neat, clean, and properly clothed.
- Assist with bathroom and hygiene needs.
- Tidy apartment and proactively assess potential safety concerns.
- Proactively assess potential safety concerns in common areas of the building and report to appropriate parties when needed.
- Transport residents to and from activities and dining.
- Provide SAMM assistance within the allotted time frame (if applicable).
- Accurately document SAMM timely (if applicable).
- Give a verbal report of shift change to the following shift.
- Prepare morning coffee and serve breakfast as residents are ready.
- Serve lunch and dinner; assist with setting tables.
- Encourage residents to take part in mealtimes; assist with plate and utensil orientation.
- Clean up, load, and empty dishwasher; clean and disinfect tables and counters.
- Launder napkins and dish towels.
- Provide one-on-one support when needed to engage residents in activities or provide a quiet space to calm residents.
- Facilitate and assist with activity programming.
- Apply an excellent customer service approach in all aspects of the job.
- Work with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Certification as a CNA or Home Health Aide in the state of work.
- One year’s experience in an elder care setting preferred.
Pay
Rate of pay starting at $18.50/hour
Schedule
Full-time, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
