About the Role
As our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Virginia Mason Medical Center, you will be an invaluable and essential member of our "Team Medicine" approach, delivering compassionate, direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will enhance patient comfort, promote dignity, and contribute directly to the safety and recovery of our patients, aligning with our commitment to continuous innovation through the Virginia Mason Production System.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with all activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, feeding, and basic hygiene, fostering a respectful and healing environment.
- Perform basic patient care activities such as taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and conducting bedside tests like blood glucose monitoring.
- Accurately observe and report any changes in disease state or symptoms to the Registered Nurse.
- Build trust and provide comprehensive, respectful care within a collaborative team setting.
- Actively observe and report patient conditions to ensure timely interventions and contribute to streamlined care processes.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant (or military medical specialty training) program OR Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (or active NA-R and proof of passing the WA NA-C exam) or LPN with the Washington State Nursing Commission.
- Current healthcare provider American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic skills in using a PC.
- Ability to lift, move, or assist patients using proper body mechanics.
- Ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 100 lbs.
This location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.

$28.80 - $40.62 / hour
