CNA - Assisted Living - Part Time Days

About the role

The Lodge of Howard Lake is a small 18 apartment assisted living facility located in the beautiful city of Howard Lake, MN. Our residents enjoy 24 hour staffing to help make their lives a little easier while maintaining a level of independence.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a charge nurse.
• Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned resident.
• Depending upon location, assists the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and also provides range of motion and passive exercises.
• Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
• Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures and/or collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
• Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations.
• Documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary. Communicates changing condition, medication follow-up and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
• Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate.
• Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care/service plan.
• When applicable, provides care to tenants with dementia.
• Knows and follows infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use.

Requirements

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in assisted living preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
• Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
• Maintains all department specific required certifications.
• When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.

• Medical qualification to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy.
