Job Summary
Responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect complex parts and assemblies, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and write CMM programs using PC-DMIS from 3D models, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
- Set up and calibrate CMM equipment, fixtures, and probes for inspection routines.
- Operate CMM to perform dimensional inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
- Interpret and analyze inspection data, generating detailed inspection reports and identifying non-conformances.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to troubleshoot measurement issues and improve inspection processes.
- Maintain and perform minor preventative maintenance on CMM equipment.
- Participate in first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with established quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Train and mentor junior operators on CMM operation and basic programming.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of inspection methods and technologies.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associates Degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a CMM Programmer Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS.
- Strong understanding manufacturing processes, CNC Milling, EDM, and plastic injection mold assembly and operation.
- Experience with various measurement tools and techniques (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators).
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed.
Pay & Benefits
- The hourly pay range for this role is $16.01 - $28.08.
