About the Role

ThermAvant is seeking a full-time CMM Programmer and Operator (Quality Assurance). The candidate will work closely with Production and Engineering to support the design, build, testing, and troubleshooting of custom thermal products.

Responsibilities

  • Program in Calypso, including free-form and curve
  • Create new programs using Calypso software, as well as operate CMM machine using established programs
  • Use GD&T to define and communicate design intent as well as regulate the shape, size, and position of the product
  • Create reports in real-time using PiWeb
  • Program VMM in zone 3
  • Create Operator Level set-up and run instructions
  • Support the ongoing calibration and maintenance of the inspection equipment
  • Work independently

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of CMM hardware
  • Experience in programming using Calypso
  • Coursework, certificate, or degree from technical school in related field of study
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics for fabrication and assembly
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Email) and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Able to handle physically heavy materials (>50lbs) when necessary

Skills

  • Background in a CNC milling environment
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001:2008, or similar quality management procedures and processes (preferred)
  • Troubleshooting and development of first-generation solutions requiring practical on-the-floor solutions
