About the role
A day in the life of a CMA, LPN, or RN in Rheumatology at The Iowa Clinic includes:
- Providing professional nursing services for patients of assigned physician(s) following established nursing practice standards and medical office/hospital procedures.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patient's care needs.
- Assisting provider(s) with patient triage, identifying nursing diagnoses or problem lists, and formulating an initial plan of care based on assessment data.
- Spending time with patients to listen and build relationships.
- Returning patient calls and ensuring all patients feel valued and cared for.
- Working standard clinic hours with no night shifts.

Requirements

- Knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, medical diagnoses, and treatments.
- Exceptional patient skills.
- The ability to prepare and maintain records.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- A positive and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to assist physicians in a professional manner.
- Required Licenses: Iowa RN license, CMA (AAMA), or LPN License.
