UnityPoint Clinic is seeking a compassionate clinical professional (CMA, LPN, or RN) to join our Family Medicine team in NW Des Moines / Windsor Heights. This full-time, benefited position offers predictable Monday–Friday schedules with either Tuesdays or Wednesdays off.

About the role

Provide direct patient care, assist with exams and treatments, and deliver patient education in a clean, safe, and organized outpatient setting.

Schedule

  • Option 1: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (Tuesdays off)
  • Option 2: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (Wednesdays off)
  • No nights, no weekends

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
  • Room patients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure
  • Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care
  • Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

Qualifications

  • Valid and current licensure/certification in one of the following:
    • Registered Nurse (RN) – Active/Unencumbered RN license in state of practice or compact license including state of practice
    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Active/Unencumbered LPN license in state of practice or compact license including state of practice
    • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following:
      • National Healthcare Association
      • American Association of Medical Assistants
      • National Center for Competency Testing
      • National Certified Medical Assistant
      • National Association of Health Professionals
      • American Registry of Medical Assistants
      • American Allied Health
      • American Medical Technologists
  • Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
  • Familiarity with EPIC is a plus
  • Team members may be required to work at or float to other locations to support optimized staffing
