About the Role

McFarland Clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) for its Ames office. Ideal candidates are service-oriented, team players dedicated to providing extraordinary care to patients every day.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for exams and/or procedures
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatment, exams, and patient testing
• Arrange for testing or hospital admission
• Instruct patients regarding treatment plans
• Triage within scope of practice, including handling incoming telephone calls
• Place orders as directed by physician/provider

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants or graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Medical Technologists (AMT), NAHP, NCCT, or NHA or possession of a State Practical Nurse license or possession of a State Registered Nurse license
• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
• Previous hospital or clinic experience preferred

Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are required.

Schedule

• Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) and 7:30 AM – Noon (Thursday)
