CMA LPN Residency East Mason

Job Summary

This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions, and carrying out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. This position is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit.

What You Will Do

• Room patients
• Perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds
• Cook CMA/LPN- Residency- East Mason
• Coordinate provider schedules and appointments
• Enter orders and prepare patient charts
• Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification
• Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures
• Prepare and administer medications/immunizations
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards
• Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room

Education Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or Practical Nursing program
• Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a MA/LPN obtained through professional MA/LPN work experience or completion of student clinical rotations
• Required current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant
• Possibly preferred current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care
• Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
• Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors
• Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level
• Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Possess skills to effectively solve problems
• Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone, and office equipment
• Possess effective written and verbal communication
