CMA/LPN - Gastro Clinic - Sioux City

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate clinical professional to join our Gastroenterology Clinic team in Sioux City, IA. This full-time position, with benefits, is open to Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). The role involves providing support in patient care, assisting with exams, treatments, and patient education, as well as helping with GI scheduling, charting, and sending testing and medications.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
• Room patients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure
• Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care
• Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

Qualifications

• Valid and current licensure/certification in the state of Iowa as one of the following:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Iowa Board of Nursing – Active/Unencumbered LPN license in state of practice
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with certification from one of the following:
    • National Healthcare Association
    • American Association of Medical Assistants
    • National Center for Competency Testing
    • National Certified Medical Assistant
    • National Association of Health Professionals
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants
    • American Allied Health
    • American Medical Technologists
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC is a plus
