About the role

Careers With Purpose is seeking a Lead Medication Assistant to join our not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality care to seniors in a Christian environment. Our facility is located at 301 Lorrain Dr, Bismarck, ND 58503, USA.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and assigns resident assistants to ensure residents' plans of care are carried out and documented as directed.
  • Delivers appropriate age-related care related to the physical and psychological needs of adult and geriatric residents per plans of care.
  • Communicates with resident assistants and provides hands-on care to residents.
  • Plays a key role in the resident admission process, orientation of new staff and students, and data collection on performance indicators.
  • Performs tasks delegated by the supervising nurse and other managers in the household.
  • Assists residents with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
  • Maintains the household environment during shifts.
  • Assists residents with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and documents outcomes related to care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicates changes in condition, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
  • Participates in wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to engage in activities.
  • Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
  • Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
  • Utilizes cost-effective measures while delivering quality care.
  • May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 18 preferred.
  • Six months experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
  • Maintains all department-specific required certifications.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance may be required depending on location.
  • Must have nursing assistant certification, completed the 75-hour course, and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
  • Must have the state required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA).
  • Active certified nursing assistant registration in state of practice, or ability to obtain within 120 days, is required.

Skills

Strong communication skills, ability to handle sensitive situations, and a compassionate demeanor are essential. Proficiency in administering medications and maintaining a clean, safe environment are also critical.

Pay

$21.75 - $31.50 per hour, with the potential for a sign-on bonus of $2000.

Schedule

Full-time, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
