Careers With Purpose is seeking a Lead Medication Assistant to join our not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality care to seniors in a Christian environment. Our facility is located at 301 Lorrain Dr, Bismarck, ND 58503, USA.
Responsibilities
- Organizes and assigns resident assistants to ensure residents' plans of care are carried out and documented as directed.
- Delivers appropriate age-related care related to the physical and psychological needs of adult and geriatric residents per plans of care.
- Communicates with resident assistants and provides hands-on care to residents.
- Plays a key role in the resident admission process, orientation of new staff and students, and data collection on performance indicators.
- Performs tasks delegated by the supervising nurse and other managers in the household.
- Assists residents with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
- Maintains the household environment during shifts.
- Assists residents with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and documents outcomes related to care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicates changes in condition, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
- Participates in wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to engage in activities.
- Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
- Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
- Utilizes cost-effective measures while delivering quality care.
- May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 18 preferred.
- Six months experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
- Maintains all department-specific required certifications.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance may be required depending on location.
- Must have nursing assistant certification, completed the 75-hour course, and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
- Must have the state required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA).
- Active certified nursing assistant registration in state of practice, or ability to obtain within 120 days, is required.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to handle sensitive situations, and a compassionate demeanor are essential. Proficiency in administering medications and maintaining a clean, safe environment are also critical.

Pay
$21.75 - $31.50 per hour, with the potential for a sign-on bonus of $2000.
Schedule
Full-time, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
