CLS / Respite - Youth Mentor

About the role

Intensive mentoring and respite position that supports youth in attaining goals outlined in therapy through one‑on‑one skill development. Services are child and family‑centered, delivered in the home/community and include life and social skill development. Positive outcomes are achieved through purposeful and respectful relationships rooted in trauma‑informed care, hope, and evidence‑based research. The Youth Mentor position is an excellent fit for those working toward Social Work or Counseling degrees and for anyone passionate about supporting youth in the community.

Responsibilities

• Support youth in achieving therapy goals through individualized skill development.
• Provide child‑ and family‑focused services in home and community settings.
• Facilitate life and social skill development.
• Build purposeful, respectful relationships grounded in trauma‑informed care, hope, and evidence‑based research.

Requirements

• Regular availability to work after school, evenings, and weekends.
• Experience and/or desire to work with children and adolescents.
• Comfort working in client homes and/or community settings.
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
• Ability and willingness to meet regular supervision and training requirements.

Qualifications

• Ideal for candidates pursuing Social Work or Counseling degrees.
• Passion for supporting youth in the community.
• Willingness to explore bias, equity issues, successes, and challenges with empathy and curiosity.
