Job Summary

The Certified LPN at North Mississippi Health Services plays a vital role in providing a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care, adhering to hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Their responsibilities include patient care, documentation, teaching, and performing IV therapy, ensuring age-appropriate care and maintaining positive relations with patients, families, and medical staff. The LPN must possess problem-solving skills to handle stressful situations and respond to changing patient needs effectively.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Licenses and Certifications

  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation

Work Experience

  • Maintains knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care
  • Completes 24-32 hours orientation MIS computer training
  • Organizes and prioritizes work assignments
  • Delegates assignments appropriately to nursing assistants
  • Aids new employees in their orientation
  • Projects a positive image of the unit to all customers
  • Maintains a good working relationship with medical staff, unit personnel, and all ancillary departments
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills
