CloudOps Engineer

Flourish is a startup focused on helping independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) implement financial products efficiently. Founded in 2017, Flourish currently supports over 1,100 RIAs managing $2.6T in assets through two products: Flourish Cash and Flourish Lending. Based in New York City, Flourish is a subsidiary of MassMutual Life Insurance Company.

About The Role

The Flourish Engineers are at the heart of high-impact, mission-critical projects that drive the company’s cloud-native journey. They are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining infrastructure as code, ensuring compliance with security standards, and enabling rapid application development.

Principal Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and monitor AWS infrastructure following industry best practices and standards
• Develop self-service and automated solutions for application development teams
• Engage with application development teams to advise on cloud technologies and implement cloud-native best practices
• Own CI/CD pipelines and ensure secure by design and secure by default patterns are applied
• Implement and integrate with AI-based tools for Infrastructure as Code development
• Design and develop event-driven automations and workflows using AWS Lambda and Step Functions

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional experience
• Strong programming and scripting skills with one or more languages (Python, Go, Bash)
• Experience with Linux, containers, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS and Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools
• Experience with AI-based tools for Infrastructure as Code development
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message buses like Kafka
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Engineering
• Experience with SRE principles and/or an SRE, operations, or system administrator role

Pay & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $152,100 - $199,600 plus bonus. Flourish offers competitive salaries, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
