Jabil is seeking a Cloud Test Development Engineer, Manufacturing who will directly contribute to transformative growth within our Enterprise and Infrastructure division by applying unique and innovative approaches to solving problems in a large-scale software production environment. This role ensures the quality and reliability of hardware products, supporting the overall success of the manufacturing process and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test systems and procedures for manufacturing processes, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts for hardware components such as motherboards, memory, CPU, storage (SSD, HDD, NVMe), and PCIe devices (NIC, GPU, Mezz cards, RAID cards).
  • Create, validate, release, and maintain test software and scripts that automate testing, including code for controlling test equipment, data collection, analysis, and report generation.
  • Provide sustaining support and maintenance for manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11) level test software and infrastructure, including minor system configuration changes (e.g., new IPNs).
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, specifications, and infrastructure for manufacturing servers (L10) and racks (L11).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance personnel, to align on testing requirements and quality standards.
  • Stay updated on advancements in testing technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices to keep manufacturing processes competitive.
  • Define and collaborate on overall test infrastructure and application architectures.
  • Interface with internal engineering, manufacturing, quality teams, and end customers to ensure software deliverables meet Jabil’s rigorous manufacturing standards.

Requirements

  • Expertise in programming/scripting languages: Python, BASH, C, C++ (experience a plus).
  • Linux development expertise with a solid understanding of fundamentals (CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Experience with hardware and API solutions for controlling, managing, and stressing L10 devices (servers, network, and storage SSDs, NVMe), including IPMI, Redfish, mprime, FIO, Linpack, ptugen, and memtester.
  • Expertise in creating and configuring Virtual Machines (VMs), preferably VMWare, including DHCP, PXE boot, and nginx.
  • Experience with leading-edge networking systems, hardware, software, and protocols, including enterprise Ethernet datacenter switching/routing (L1, L2, L3: BGP, DHCP Relay, ECMP). Arista CloudVision is a plus.
  • Experience with code versioning tools (Git preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. MS preferred.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in software manufacturing test development/sustaining with enterprise server, storage, or networking products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in multi-site and multi-cultural environments.
  • Domestic and/or international travel, up to 10%, may be required.
