Amentum is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support challenging, mission-critical projects that directly impact the Nation’s security and intelligence mission. The role is part of the Geospatial Enterprise Open Data Store (GEODS) contract, providing integration, design, development, and sustainment for data services in support of the Federal Government.

Purpose and Impact

In this role, you will oversee the testing of products from development to operational deployment, collaborate with Scrum Masters and developers through the requirements process, and contribute to a robust, organized Backlog and streamlined Roadmap for the GEODS program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cloud systems.
  • Isolate and resolve problems involving applications, operating systems, hardware, communications, or infrastructure, and prepare problem reports for leads such as Amazon/C2S and NGA-ESC.
  • Support escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Deploy operating system and application software to cloud compute resources.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components, including implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, including transitioning and migrating corporate systems.
  • Monitor and report on system health using dashboarding tools such as Elasticsearch Kibana and AWS CloudWatch.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI level security clearance with CI scope Polygraph.
  • Ability to report and work on-site daily (this role is not remote).
  • Minimum education and experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience, or
    • Associate’s degree plus 7 years of experience, or
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field.
  • Required certifications: Cloud Certification, preferably AWS, OCI, or Google Cloud.

Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with the AWS C2S suite and services.
  • Experience administering and managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and providing AWS technical support to the NGA enterprise.
  • Senior-level experience managing and administering Linux/Windows-based systems, including patching, updates, and configuration management.
  • Experience with Active Directory and managing/maintaining Windows servers.
  • Analyzing logs and troubleshooting issues on EC2 instances by establishing SSH connections using tools such as MobaXterm or Putty.
  • Creating IAM users/roles/policies per user requests and writing JSON IAM/S3 policies to administer access.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and LDAP for account creation and management on Linux servers.
  • Supporting, improving, and implementing internal components and applications on multiple clusters.

Pay

$150,000 – $180,000.

Schedule

Monday – Friday.
