About The Role

The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer at Humana plays a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of the organization's cloud implementation strategy, primarily within Microsoft Azure. This senior-level position involves working on complex problems across multiple projects, ranging from moderate to substantial in scope and complexity. The engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, integrating, maintaining, and supporting cloud architecture solutions that align with organizational goals. They will collaborate closely with stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to evaluate existing cloud systems and develop innovative solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and data science insights. The role also entails leading the rollout of cloud management platforms, assessing their performance, and implementing necessary enhancements. Mentoring and coaching developers, exercising independent judgment on complex technical issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives are integral to this position. The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer is expected to be a technical leader, driving best practices in cloud architecture, security, and infrastructure as code, while ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive IT experience, including senior development roles in large-scale projects
• At least 2 years of technical leadership experience
• Extensive experience in building scalable data platforms and data engineering solutions
• In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud services and architecture
• Strong expertise in infrastructure as code and security best practices
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to stakeholders
• Prominent ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability in project deliverables
• Passion for continuous improvement and innovative problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Implement the organization’s cloud strategy from a technical standpoint, including design, planning, and deployment of cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate existing cloud systems and identify suitable solutions to meet business needs
• Develop specifications and technical requirements for new cloud-based products, applications, and services in partnership with product managers and engineers
• Drive the deployment and management of cloud management platforms, monitor their performance, and implement necessary improvements
• Exercise independent judgment on complex technical issues, providing solutions that enhance cloud architecture and security
• Mentor and coach developers and technical staff to foster skill development and knowledge sharing
• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards in cloud implementations
• Support continuous integration and delivery processes within an agile development framework
• Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve organizational capabilities
