Cloud Solutions Architect

Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Solutions Architect to design, build, and optimize enterprise cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is not a traditional architecture role focused solely on strategy—you'll be actively building infrastructure, writing code, automating deployments, and partnering with engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions. The ideal candidate has deep experience with GCP, Infrastructure as Code, cloud networking, and DevOps practices, along with a passion for solving complex technical challenges in large-scale cloud environments. Core DutiesDesign, build, and implement cloud infrastructure solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Develop architecture blueprints and technical documentation to support cloud initiativesBuild and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practicesDevelop automation and operational tooling using PythonImplement GitOps workflows using GitHub or GitLabDesign and support cloud networking, including VPCs, VPNs, load balancers, routing, DNS, and hybrid connectivityConfigure and maintain Landing Zones and cloud foundation servicesDefine monitoring strategies, operational procedures, KPIs, and health checksSupport CI/CD pipelines and deployment automationCollaborate with engineering, infrastructure, security, and product teams to deliver cloud solutionsIdentify technical risks and implement scalable, reliable solutionsMentor team members and contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and cloud best practicesRequired Skills/Experience10+ years of overall IT experience2+ years of hands-on experience building infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure (not simply migrating applications to the cloud)Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Experience with GitOps, including GitHub and/or GitLabStrong scripting skills with PythonSolid Linux administration experienceExperience with cloud networking concepts including VPCs, VPNs, routing, DNS, load balancers, and hybrid connectivityStrong documentation and technical communication skillsPreferred Skills/EnvironmentExperience with Kubernetes, GKE, or EKSExperience with AnsibleKnowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or TeamCityFamiliarity with Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, DockerHub, and GitHubExperience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Microsoft SQL ServerExperience working in Agile environmentsProfessional Cloud Architect certification is a plusWork EnvironmentCandidates should be within driving distance of St. Louis, MO; Charlotte, NC; or Denver, COCollaborative engineering environment with a strong focus on automation, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps best practicesOpportunity to work on enterprise-scale cloud initiatives using modern technologies including GCP, Terraform, Python, GitOps, Kubernetes, and cloud networkingOne virtual interview consisting of approximately one hour with the hiring manager and technical teamCompensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $75hr and $81hr. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
