Cloud Solutions Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Cloud Solution Architect with an active TS/SCI clearance. This role requires a Subject Matter Expert who can independently design and develop cloud-based applications using current best practices and architectural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop front-end applications using modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Develop containerized applications using Kubernetes and orchestration tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
• Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations following best practices.
• Install and manage cloud-based applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Perform software and hardware upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations.
• Manage the physical environment of server racks, including cable management, documentation, labeling, and KVM switching for console and remote access.
• Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, run diagnostics, document problems and resolutions, prioritize issues, and assess impact.
• Perform regular backup operations and implement processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
• Monitor systems daily and respond to performance, security, or usability concerns.
• Review application logs to sustain system integrity and security.
• Perform Linux administration (CentOS/Ubuntu/Rocky).
• Communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
• Respond to and resolve help desk and JIRA requests.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance (required).
• Experience independently designing and developing cloud-based applications using current best practices.
• Experience in software engineering, applications development, or web application development and deployment.
• Experience with object-oriented development in a modern language (Java, Go, C#).
• Experience developing front ends in modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Experience developing in commercial clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
• Experience with orchestration tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
• Experience with networking and Virtual Private Network (VPN) protocols like OpenVPN, WireGuard, and IPSec.
• Experience managing end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations.
• Experience installing and managing cloud-based applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience performing software and hardware upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations.
• Experience managing the physical environment of server racks, including cable management and KVM switching.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and software errors, running diagnostics, and documenting resolutions.
• Experience performing backup operations and implementing disaster recovery and failover procedures.
• Experience monitoring systems and responding to performance, security, or usability concerns.
• Experience reviewing application logs for system integrity and security.
• Experience with Linux administration (CentOS/Ubuntu/Rocky).
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience with Java or Go.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services (EC2, S3, EKS, EFS, Route53, Load Balancers, or equivalents).
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with automation and CI/CD (GitLab).
• Experience in system administration.
• IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields.
• Experience with Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies like OpenVPN, WireGuard, and IPSec.
• Experience with virtualization (VMWare or equivalent).
• Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
