About the role

The team is harnessing the cloud and leveraging containers and orchestration solutions. As a Container Security Engineer, you will implement and secure industry-leading container technologies, assist with the migration, customization, and operationalization of AquaSec to meet the security team's needs, and take advantage of additional cloud security products. You will apply specialized knowledge of container security and orchestration to develop security solutions in multi-cloud environments and protect data across clouds and platforms.

You'll work on a dynamic, cross-functional team, employing automation and cybersecurity best practices in Google Kubernetes. You'll coordinate with architecture, developers, DevOps, and industry-leading vendors to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate the team's goals into a plan that enables secure and effective cloud-hosted solutions powered by Google. You'll partner with stakeholders and the cloud security team to deliver the right technical solutions while having opportunities to learn new tools and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and secure container technologies in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Assist with the migration, customization, and operationalization of AquaSec and other CWPP solutions (e.g., Wiz).
  • Develop security policies for containers and CWPP platforms.
  • Secure CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions/Workflows.
  • Write runbooks for security events and draft security playbooks.
  • Operationalize controls through APIs and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, and vendors to deliver secure cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud.
  • Apply cybersecurity best practices, including NIST guidelines, DoD STIGs, and CIS benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Experience with containers, orchestration solutions, and cloud-managed Kubernetes services such as Google Kubernetes Engine.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating container security solutions (e.g., AquaSec, Prisma Cloud, Wiz).
  • Experience using, managing, and securing CI/CD pipeline solutions (e.g., GitHub Actions/Workflows).
  • Experience with IaC concepts and tools, including Terraform and Ansible.
  • Work experience coding IaC solutions and operationalizing controls through APIs.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and configuration automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, boundary defense, auditing, authentication, and supply chain risk management.
  • Knowledge of secure configuration guidelines (e.g., DoD STIGs, CIS benchmarks).
  • Knowledge of NIST guidelines for container security.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $95.00 per hour.

Schedule

This is a contract, hybrid position based in Remote, OR.
