About the Role

We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, safer AI. We need cloud security practitioners who understand how real cloud environments fail. This isn't a theoretical exercise. You'll work with real-world cloud security scenarios across AWS, GCP, and Azure, helping evaluate and improve AI systems that reason about infrastructure risk.

Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week (flexible)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze cloud security scenarios across AWS, GCP, and Azure to identify realistic risks and failure patterns
  • Review IAM policies, networking configurations, storage permissions, and container security setups
  • Classify misconfigurations, security gaps, and cloud-native vulnerabilities based on real-world impact
  • Evaluate and improve AI-generated security reasoning to ensure it reflects how actual cloud incidents unfold
  • Assess blast radius, risk exposure, and business impact of identified security failures

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with cloud environments in production
  • Solid understanding of cloud IAM, networking, storage, and container security across one or more major cloud providers
  • Familiarity with real-world misconfigurations and how security incidents actually happen in the wild
  • Able to reason clearly and communicate precisely about risk, exposure, and impact
  • Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud security tooling (e.g., AWS Security Hub, GCP Security Command Center, Defender for Cloud)
  • Background in penetration testing, red teaming, or cloud incident response
  • Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK for Cloud, CIS Benchmarks, or CSA CCM
  • Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CCSP, or similar

Benefits

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems with top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Make a meaningful impact on how AI understands cloud security
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
