Cloud Platform Engineer (Civil Aviation)
About the role
Air Space Intelligence (ASI) is dedicated to delivering operational decision superiority through its mission-critical technology, which supports decision-making across aviation, defense, energy, and other critical infrastructure sectors. Backed by prominent investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Spark Capital, and Renegade Partners, ASI focuses on compressing days of analysis into seconds of action, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the field.
What You Will Do
- Build and operate cloud infrastructure for mission-critical aviation systems in real-world operations
- Work directly in production environments to ensure scalable, resilient, and continuously deployable systems
- Develop and improve core infrastructure used by engineers every day, shipping infrastructure-as-code, and working with Kubernetes-based systems
- Deploy services, improve observability, and respond to real production challenges
- Debug issues, strengthen system resilience, and continuously raise the bar for reliability
- Work on problems like scaling distributed systems, improving release safety, and building automation that reduces operational toil and keeps systems running smoothly
What We Value
- Strong experience building and operating production-grade cloud infrastructure
- Experience with AWS (preferred) or other cloud providers (GCP, Azure)
- Proficiency with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm)
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for reliable, frequent production releases
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalability
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
- Understanding of production safety practices, including testing, rollout strategies, and rollback mechanisms
- Experience operating and supporting 24/7 production systems
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across teams in a mission-critical environment
- Exposure to regulated cloud environments (e.g., FedRAMP) and familiarity with progressive deployment techniques (e.g., canary releases)
- Exposure to high-availability systems (e.g., “four nines” reliability)
- Proficiency in leveraging modern LLM tools to accelerate development workflows and enhance code quality
How We Hire
We view the interview process as an opportunity to simulate what it would be like working together. We build the interview process around you. ASI works with export-controlled technology and restricted U.S. Government data, including on contracts mandating U.S. immigration status and location restrictions for performing personnel. Employment offers are contingent on the ability to timely obtain all required authorizations for contemplated job duties.
