Cloud Operations Engineer
About the role
CyberSheath Services International LLC is a rapidly growing Managed Services Provider primarily focused on providing Cybersecurity services to the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). We are expanding our staff and seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team. This customer-facing role supports project and deployment tasks for CyberSheath Managed Services clients' onboarding and technology initiatives. The successful candidate will engage new clients to understand their architecture, implement CyberSheath solutions, and address potential gaps. You will work as part of a project team managing, supporting, and migrating/implementing projects related to clients' IT systems.

Responsibilities
- Microsoft and Azure Operations:
- Provision and deliver computer systems and services across on-premise and cloud-hosted solutions.
- Perform migrations to Office 365 (email, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) and server migrations to Azure.
- Design and deliver secure cloud solutions in Office 365 and Azure.
- Configure and support Intune device enrollment, compliance policies, and endpoint management.
- Linux Engineering and Support:
- Administer, patch, and support Linux server environments (RHEL, Rocky/CentOS, Ubuntu) hosted on-premise and in the cloud.
- Troubleshoot Linux system, service, and networking issues, including user/permission management, package management, systemd services, and shell scripting.
- Apply Linux hardening and patch management practices in alignment with DIB and CMMC expectations.
- AWS Operations:
- Provision, configure, and support AWS workloads, including EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC networking.
- Assist with migrations and ongoing operations across AWS, including AWS GovCloud.
- Support multi-cloud client environments spanning Azure and AWS, ensuring consistent security and operational standards.
- Architecture, Tooling, and Delivery:
- Perform architecture, design, system evaluation, and infrastructure assessments.
- Deploy and maintain tools and monitoring agents such as endpoint protection, vulnerability management, log collection, MFA, and RMM.
- Track activities, case notes, and time entries within the Service Desk Ticketing system.
- Drive technical implementation tasks to completion by budgeted deadlines.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure tasks and timelines are identified, on time, and on budget.
- Provide timely updates and feedback to the internal team and clients regarding project status.
- Proactively communicate with clients to address requests.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot onboarding and implementation issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7+ years' experience in System Administration, including:
- Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
- Microsoft Azure Administration
- Server Management (Active Directory, Group Policy)
- Deployment and Migrations
- Hands-on Linux system administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky and/or Ubuntu), including:
- User management
- Package management
- Shell scripting
- Patching
- Working knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) sufficient for baseline operational support.
- Intermediate networking experience (TCP/IP, routing, SSH, VPN).
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting.
- Familiarity with security tools such as EDR, SIEM, MFA, DLP, and AIP.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills to balance and prioritize workloads.
- Comfortable leading technical discussions with clients and internal personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and reside within the United States or its Territories.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience with Government flavors of Office 365, Azure, or AWS (including AWS GovCloud).
- Experience with the ConnectWise suite of products.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Microsoft Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400.
- AWS certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (SOA-C02), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C03).
- Linux certifications: CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
- Networking and security certifications: Network+, Security+, CCSP.
Work Environment
- Virtual work environment.
- Approximately 20% travel.
- Some on-call, shift, weekend, and evening work.
Pay
Budgeted Pay Range: $110,000 USD - $127,000 USD
