About the role
Fugro's IT department provides the technology, cybersecurity, applications, data management, AI enablement, and technical support that allow employees, vessels, remote operations, and business systems to operate securely and efficiently worldwide. The team supports Fugro's digital transformation strategy and enables the delivery of geo-data services across the globe.
The Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Engineer serves as a hands-on senior technical resource responsible for architecting, designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. This role provides technical leadership for infrastructure modernization, hybrid cloud adoption, automation, disaster recovery, virtualization, networking, storage, and identity services. The position focuses on engineering and solution delivery rather than routine operational support, requiring strong architectural thinking, troubleshooting abilities, and technical ownership.
Responsibilities

- Architect, design, and implement hybrid infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.
- Develop technical designs, implementation plans, build standards, and operational support procedures.
- Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives involving cloud migration, virtualization, storage, networking, identity, and security platforms.
- Produce architecture diagrams, design documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and infrastructure strategies.
- Engineer and maintain cloud and hybrid infrastructure supporting enterprise applications and business operations.
- Design and implement highly available, resilient, and secure infrastructure solutions.
- Configure and support enterprise networking including VPN, routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, VPCs, and hybrid connectivity.
- Manage Active Directory, Azure AD, identity federation, and access management solutions.
- Administer enterprise virtualization platforms including cloud-native infrastructure.
- Act as a Tier 3/4 escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
- Continuously optimize infrastructure performance, capacity, reliability, and cost.
- Participate in on-call rotations supporting critical enterprise systems.
- Serve as technical lead for infrastructure projects.
- Establish engineering standards, design guidelines, and operational best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide escalation support for complex technical issues.
- Lead root-cause analysis and recommend long-term corrective actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
- High school diploma required; Computer Science, Informatics, or Computer Engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience.
- Proven experience designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions.
- Demonstrated success leading infrastructure projects from design through implementation.
- Experience architecting highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud, networking, server, storage, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience working within complex enterprise environments supporting global operations.

Preferred certifications: AWS Architect, AWS SysOps, AWS Security, CCNA, CCNP, PMP.
