About the role
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, building, securing, and operating cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments. They support healthcare applications by implementing secure network architectures, identity and access controls, and infrastructure automation.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments.
- Lead and own the migration of workloads from Azure to AWS, including assessment, planning, execution, and post-migration optimization.
- Assist with administration of SQL Server and Snowflake environments, including access management, performance tuning, and backup/restore.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure meets healthcare security and compliance requirements (HIPAA and related regulations).
- Manage and enforce identity, design, configure, and support VPNs, firewalls, and network security controls and access management (IAM), role-based access control (RBAC), and least-privilege policies across cloud platforms.
- Monitor, manage, and optimize cloud costs, budgets, and usage across Azure and AWS.
- Implement and maintain security monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response processes.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) for consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Support production and non-production environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with application, DevOps, security, and compliance teams to align infrastructure with business and regulatory needs.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, security, and networking issues across cloud platforms.
- Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
- Support and lead incident responses for cloud-related issues.
- Evaluate new cloud services, security tools, and best practices to continuously improve the environment.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field required, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure and Security.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Snowflake is required; experience with Databricks is a plus.
- Proven experience leading cloud migration projects, preferably Azure to AWS.
- Deep knowledge of IAM, security best practices, and network security, VPNs, firewalls, VPC design, routing, and hybrid connectivity.
- Cost management and optimization strategies.
- Strong Windows and/or Linux server administration skills.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
- Experience in using security tools like CrowdStrike, TrendMicro.
- Executive-level decision-making and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge and skill using Microsoft Office Suite.
