Cloud Engineering Lead

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Cloud Engineering Lead to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will guide a cloud engineering team responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable cloud solutions in support of mission-critical work. You will partner with architecture, security, and application teams to advance cloud modernization, improve efficiency, and strengthen enterprise capabilities. The position combines technical leadership, hands-on architecture oversight, and team mentorship in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership and mentoring to the cloud engineering team
• Design and deploy system architecture for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions in Azure
• Contribute to enterprise cloud and mission architecture design
• Evaluate application architectures for cloud modernization alignment
• Identify opportunities for user experience and efficiency improvements
• Enforce security best practices and guidelines
• Facilitate team interactions for career growth and performance reviews
• Scale cloud solutions and migrate data center capabilities to the cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 12+ years in relevant roles
• Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams
• Expertise in designing and deploying solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Familiarity with Identity Access Management (IDAM) solutions such as AzureAD and CyberArk
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD tools
• Knowledge of federal security requirements, including NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA
• Strong communication skills for distributed team collaboration
• Current IAT Level II certification, such as Security + or CISSP

Pay

$131,300 – $237,350 annually
