About the role
We are seeking talented professionals to join our cloud infrastructure and engineering team, where you will design, build, and deploy scalable cloud-based solutions that support enterprise operations.
Role summary / purpose
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and deploying cloud-based infrastructure and managed services to achieve scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiencies for private and public cloud systems. You will build resilient and scalable solutions in Java and cloud-native environments while adhering to industry best practices and company standards.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deploy opinionated cloud environments and platforms aligned with enterprise architecture and security requirements while meeting business-critical needs of internal customers.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, security teams, solution architects, and product teams to design, build, and deploy cloud infrastructure solutions that meet scalability, availability, performance, and security requirements.
- Maintain system usage to predict future needs and ensure the organization scales its IT resources appropriately.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code templates for configuring and provisioning complex cloud resources including identity services, virtual private clouds, gateways, SSL, Kubernetes clusters, and NoSQL data stores.
- Integrate enterprise security and disaster recovery policies in cloud infrastructure configurations to ensure data protection and compliance with industry regulations.
- Design, implement, and optimize cloud-based storage solutions ensuring data availability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Assist in the execution of technology strategy and implementation of engineering roadmaps, including optimizing cloud expenditure, maximizing resource usage, and ensuring high availability across required geographic regions.
- Evaluate new and emerging cloud technologies for incorporation into existing systems and assist in modernization efforts to prioritize and execute migrations of on-premises services to cloud systems.
- Generate metrics, perform user access authorization, maintain passwords, and build deployment pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3-5 years of development experience
- At least 2-3 years of experience building applications in microservice product architecture
Required skills
- Expertise in core technologies including Java, Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, Google Cloud Platform, and RESTful APIs
- Experience with MongoDB, relational databases, and NoSQL solutions
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline design and implementation in a GitHub-based development workflow
- Proficiency with canary deployments and API-related technologies such as JSON, REST, Swagger, and Hoppscotch
- Knowledge of Continuous Delivery processes and tools, testing frameworks, and practices (preferably GitHub, Terraform, Tekton)
Nice-to-have / preferred skills
- Ability to grasp concepts quickly and implement learning rapidly
- Passion for engineering excellence
- Strong communication skills and ability to listen to others
- Good knowledge of testing and security methodologies and tools such as SonarQube, CheckMarx, and DynaTrace
- Experience with Agile Project Management tools such as JIRA or equivalent
