About the Role
Senior technical lead responsible for designing, building, and operating a secure, compliant, and scalable Google Cloud foundation and for driving the migration of workloads from Azure to GCP. The role combines hands‑on engineering, architecture, tooling, and mentorship to enable platform teams and application owners to run production services on GCP.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement GCP landing zones, including organization/folder/project structure, billing, labels, org policies, and guardrails.
- Build automated infrastructure and platform modules (Terraform/Config Connector/golden modules) for networking, compute, storage, databases, and IAM.
- Lead network and hybrid connectivity design: Shared VPC, hub‑and‑spoke, Interconnect, VPN, Private Service Connect, DNS, and IPAM.
- Migrate compute/container workloads: VMs, managed instance groups, GKE (Autopilot/Standard), Cloud Run, App Engine.
- Migrate data and stateful services: Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL/AlloyDB, BigQuery, Dataflow/Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and cache/datastore services.
- Implement security and compliance controls: Cloud IAM, Cloud Identity/Workspace federation, Workload Identity, VPC Service Controls, Cloud KMS/CMEK, Secret Manager, Security Command Center.
- Build CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Artifact Registry, and integrate IaC with policy‑as‑code.
- Establish observability and SRE practices: Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Trace, Error Reporting, SLOs/SLIs, incident runbooks, and game days.
- Define cost governance and FinOps practices: budgets, labels, committed use planning, cost dashboards, and anomaly detection.
- Run pilots, lead migration waves, execute cutovers and rollback plans, and validate performance, RTO, and RPO targets.
- Coach and transfer knowledge to platform and application teams; produce runbooks and detailed migration playbooks.

- Experience providing leadership in planning or consulting settings and as a senior member of multi‑function project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of cloud engineering experience; 3+ years designing/operating GCP at scale.
- Hands‑on delivery of at least one end‑to‑end Azure‑to‑GCP migration (or equivalent hyperscaler‑to‑hyperscaler).
- Google Professional Cloud Architect certification required; Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Network Engineer, or Professional Cloud Security Engineer strongly preferred.
- Production GKE experience and familiarity with service meshes (Istio/Anthos) a plus.
- Experience with enterprise identity federation (Azure AD/Entra ID to Google Cloud Identity) and SCIM provisioning.
