About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Cloud Engineer specializing in Microsoft Azure to join our team remotely. This full-time, permanent position involves designing, deploying, securing, and optimizing enterprise cloud infrastructure for federal government clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Azure cloud services, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices. The role requires a strong understanding of cloud security standards such as FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD frameworks, as well as the ability to support hybrid-cloud architectures and automate infrastructure deployment. The Sr. Cloud Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, engineering, and government stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant cloud solutions. This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $140,000 to $160,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package, and requires U.S. citizenship with an active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable Azure cloud infrastructure and services aligned with federal security standards
• Manage Azure resources including Virtual Machines, VNets, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure Active Directory
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Ansible
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, testing, and deployment using Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, or GitHub
• Implement security best practices, including RBAC, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure DDoS Protection, and encryption protocols
• Ensure compliance with security frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD, and support vulnerability management and security monitoring
• Monitor cloud environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Activity Logs to troubleshoot and optimize performance
• Configure and manage network components including VNets, Azure DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, and Application Gateway
• Support hybrid-cloud solutions and assist with migration strategies using Azure Migrate, Azure Arc, and Azure Site Recovery
• Implement backup and disaster recovery plans utilizing Azure Backup, storage lifecycle policies, and snapshot automation
• Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to provide technical guidance on Azure architecture and operations

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Systems Administration
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and ARM Templates
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, or GitHub
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, and Bash
• Experience with hybrid-cloud and on-premises integrations
• Deep knowledge of Azure networking services including VNets, Azure DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, and Application Gateway
• Experience implementing cloud security controls and ensuring compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD requirements
• Proficiency in automation and troubleshooting using YAML, JSON, and related tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in
