Internship Program Overview

Our Futures Program is designed for students who want to gain real-world experience while making a meaningful impact. During this 10-week summer experience, participants work on hands-on projects, build connections with leaders and associates across Netsmart, and take part in professional development, networking, and social events. As a Future, you'll gain valuable skills, explore healthcare technology, and experience a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and purpose, all while contributing to work that truly matters.

If you aren't local to the Kansas City Metro, we will have housing options for you available (certain criteria will have to be met to qualify for housing).

Responsibilities

The Cloud Engineer Future will gain hands-on experience with cloud systems, infrastructure automation, monitoring, security, and operational best practices while working alongside experienced cloud engineers and technical teams. The associate will assist with:

  • Cloud deployments
  • Troubleshooting activities
  • Operational support
  • Infrastructure management

You will develop the foundational technical skills necessary for a career in cloud engineering while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Rising Senior or Rising Junior with graduation date for bachelor's or master's of December 2027, May 2028, December 2028, or May 2029
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-spoken
  • Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Unix through coursework, labs, certifications, or personal projects
  • Ability to understand how cloud infrastructure, networking, security, storage, and computing technologies affect assigned tasks
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues involving operating systems, applications, scripts, or cloud services

Qualifications

  • Current student working toward BA/BS degree in computer science, IS, IT, engineering, cybersecurity, or related technical field is preferred
