Cloud Engineer AWS

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS, and Route 53.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Monitor cloud environments using Amazon CloudWatch and other monitoring tools.
• Implement security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, network security, and compliance controls.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application issues.
• Optimize cloud performance, scalability, availability, and cost.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Perform backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Document cloud architecture, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and Route 53.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
• Proficiency with Linux administration and shell scripting (Bash or Python).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
• Knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, VPN, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
