About the role
We build. We create impact. As a Cloud Engineer on the Cloud Operations team, you will help retailers and brands use digitalization to become more efficient, intelligent, and sustainable by ensuring the high availability, automation, and reliability of our cloud services.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers during incidents: identify impacts and scope of issues, provide timely updates via status pages and communication channels (email, Teams).
- Lead and contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotations and ensure high availability of cloud services.
- CI/CD Pipeline Engineering & Automation:
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Automate build, test, and deployment workflows to improve release efficiency and reliability.
- Implement pipeline governance, versioning strategies, and release approvals.
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures and optimize performance and reliability.
- Integrate security scans, code quality checks, and automated testing into pipelines.
- Infrastructure & Platform Engineering:
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep).
- Manage and optimize containerized environments using Kubernetes.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of cloud-native applications.
- Manage environment configurations across development, staging, and production.
- Take part in development phases: provide insights based on production environments, metrics, scalability, and constraints; challenge system design and propose improvements early.
- Support production readiness reviews and deployment validations.
- Test and validate disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
- Monitoring, Observing & Reliability:
- Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
- Create dashboards for system health, performance, and business metrics.
- Proactively identify reliability risks and implement preventive measures.
- Ensuring Security:
- Participate in security reviews and monitor security tools.
- Identify and implement security improvements.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify improvements in monitoring, dashboarding, and automation.
- Participate in lessons learned from releases and incidents.
- Automate repetitive tasks through scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Optimize cloud costs through rightsizing, reserved instances, and usage analysis.
- Contribute to processes optimization, documentation, audits (e.g., ISO 27001), and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Fluently speaking and writing in English.
Skills
- Strong experience with cloud computing platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with DevOps tools, such as Azure DevOps.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines within a global team environment.
